BUT BEING A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER IS SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT.

Anyone can take pretty pictures,

get to know New England Wedding Photographer Rachel Abell

I love catching secret glances, massive grins, wild dances, peaceful moments, twinkling eyes, flushed cheeks, & unscripted joy.

Before I found myself loving everything weddings, I was a television news anchor and reporter. The organizational skills that I learned in that career, and my ability to think on my feet, make for a photography experience that is always on point and worry-free. I love making new friends and I get along with everyone! So whoever you need me to be on your wedding day (friend, personal assistant, comedian, buffer), I’m there to support you and always fit seamlessly into any wedding situation.

As your photographer I will:

Be so organized and so prepared that if things go wrong (as they inevitably will!), we can always make it work.

Know when it’s time to be in the center of the action, to capture all the joyful, unscripted moments, but also understand when it’s time to melt into the background to capture all those secret, quiet instants that make your day so sweet.

Promise no false posing. No fake smiles. Just pure, raw joy!

Always practice grace under pressure.

Cry during your vows and toasts. It’s a guarantee.

My documentary-style photography is

A Note from Rachel...

I'm a wife to an amazing husband and mother to two beautiful girls and one happy baby boy. I’m a lover of mashed potatoes; a pinot grigio & blue grass aficionado; a joyful gardener; and a fanatical cook. I read cookbooks like other people read novels (but I read those a lot too!!). I laugh hard at least once every day and cry often. My own wedding day was totally chaotic, totally crazy, and totally wonderful. And you know what made it so magical? Agreeing to spend the rest of my life with my best friend, in front of all the people my husband & I love most in the world. Those spontaneous seconds of deep emotion, the irresistible human spirit, and the eternal beauty of two people choosing each other. Chills. Weddings are enchanted. And I am wildly, wildly addicted to them!

If this sounds like how you want your wedding tale told, then reach out! We'll know pretty quick if we're meant to be a part of each other's lives, and if we are, then what a story it will be.

XOXO,

Still need more??

Then here's some silly stuff...

Baby me! Rocking a cute hat (and probably no pants)...like you do! No clue who took this family classic...probably my daddy.

My favorite photograph from my own wedding day. The Hubs & I are joy personified here. Thanks to  Frank Heny for this shot that I know will grace my family's walls for generations! (#goals)

I love this picture because I'm eight months pregnant, my ankles are swollen watermelons, it's hot as the blazes, & I'm still smiling! Love what you do & love it with all your heart!

And because there is no me without them, here's my abdorable family. My sweet husband, Raul, The Elles...fiesty Elowen (4) & darling Noella, (10)...and  Weston (1), my little Mack Truck. I know, they're delectable.

I first fell in love with Boston in 1995 when I was 17. I went to a summer theatre program at BU & I could see the Citgo sign from my room. Also, there was no air conditioning &, you guys, it hit 100° on July 14th. Woof.

I married my Grad School (Go 'Cuse!!) sweetheart, and we just celebrated our 12-year anniversary!!

The hubs & I are the proud parents of two girls & a boy (see above!!) and just officially entered our "minivan" phase of life. Gulp.

I used to own a pie business and my key lime pie and pear tart would knock your socks off.

We have a silly dog named, Sasha, and a gigantic, all black, Maine Coon cat named, Bruce Wayne. We're pretty sure he's Bat Man. With a bad attitude.

I ran a half marathon once, even though the longest I'd ever run was eight miles, because I just refused to believe I couldn't do it. I ran the whole way & finished in 2:35, but literally couldn't walk for two days.

My all-time favorite shows, in no particular order, are Twin Peaks, My So-Called Life, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars, The X-Files, & Friday Night Lights. Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose!

I used to have nineteen piercings and now only have two. I also sometimes wear pearls. My old self would probably barf.

I have 10 - yes - TEN chickens, so if you need any eggs, I have appoximately 6 million.

If I didn't love being a photographer, I'd want to be a private chef. Cooking is heaven to me. My cookbook collection is LEGENDARY!!

I love creating beautiful images, but more importantly, I love being with and serving couples on one of the greatest days of their lives. It fills my heart with endless joy!!! #TRUTH
